A connection to the book: This book reminded me of my dog Roxy because she was abused in her previous family and I rescued her just like Sam the Lion. Roxy was very brave just like Sam and was able to overcome living a hard life.

Why or why not? This book stirs up a lot of mixed emotions. One minute you are happy for Sam and the next minute you feel sorry for him because of all the awful things that happen to him. This book is outrageous because the hero has only three legs and a ladle called a "Leggle" for his fourth leg, but still overcomes a great deal of tragedy in his life.
