Title: The Evolution of Capnurnia Tate
Author: Jacqueline Kelly
Rating (Out of 5): 5
A connection to the book: Calpurnia is a young girl with a lot of brothers. She isn't the prissy sort of girl even though the time she lives in (1900's) girls are expected to act and behave a certain way. She becomes a stronger, more independent young lady. My connection is that I believe very strongly in following your heart and being who you really are inside.
Genre: Historical Fiction
Recommended?: YES!!!
Why or why not? I love the story in this book. I love the relationship she builds with her grandfather and the things she discovers along the way. This is one of my favorite books in the Golden Sower nominees!!
