Evan M. just read...

Title: Deep Trouble
Author: R. L. Stine
Rating (Out of 5): 3
A connection to the book: My connection is when I went to the beach and saw a fisherman having trouble with his fishing pole, and when he raised up his fishing rod, I saw a gray fin rising up from the water, heading towards the shore. I noticed the fisherman use a fishing tool to catch the fish and I saw that it was a hammerhead shark. It ties into the story because in the book, a hammerhead shark attacks a kid, therefor I know based on what I saw at the beach and from the book, sharks are dangerous and ferocious.
Genre: Scary Fiction
Recommended?: yes
Why or why not?  Even though this book was not as good as I thought it would be, I think the next one (Deep Trouble 2) will be much better because it has minnows (a type of fish that is a carnivore). I was disappointed with this book because it did not have a lot of action even though there were sharks and mermaids in the book. When I think of sharks, I think of lots of action and excitement, but this book did contain a lot. However, I recommend this book because I believe the second and third one will be a lot better and have more action.

  1. I'm so glad to see that you are reading Evan! I'm wondering though, you say a minnow is a carnivore, and I'm pretty sure that they aren't. Maybe you're thinking of a different fish, maybe a piranha? Keep up the reading and let me know if book 2 or 3 is better.
